“Other minorities” (Hispanics, Blacks, Asians) have their own “privileges” so it’s pointless for Whites to think about and call to mind White Privilege.Whites are at as much of a disadvantage of anybody else.

I think when you live somewhere thats predominatly white, you are going to think that the certain race is more privileged. I'm sure if you lived in a country you didn't originate from and you were different from all the others, you would feel that everyone else was privileged.

I think other minorities have their own privileges. I think that there is white privilege out there, but it is not as prominent as what people are saying,

I do not think this is true at all. While other minorties do have some advantages, there are still more white priveleges. We should work on getting everyone equal priveleges
NOT TRUE AT ALL. those are just government mandated ones. White "privilege" comes into play in a social field. Like hiring for a job, or trying to buy a house.
in history clearly white people had far more privelleges than minorities did...but that was history. now a days you will find things to be more equal. im sure things arent 100% the way we would want but it is inproved majorly to what there used to be
White people are disadvantaged by the black and other minority races just like blacks are with the white, especially in some small business eenvironments
This statement is very dependent on where you are at. If we are talking about in America then obviously whites have a priviledge because they make up the majority of people here. I think that with that majority comes all the disadvantages that whites receive. Just by being the majority a lot of the time people who arent racist or enjoy segregation try and branch out and hire/talk to someone who is different then themselves.
Everyone has some types of privileges but they aren't all the same. Some privileges only apply for specific types of people or specific things only certain people have or do.
I know I meant that if anything, white people are definitely not at a disadvantage...white people actually have the upper hand in most situations. I agree with slaughterhouse too that it is not always a legal issue, but socially too.

People are completely focused on the past and history. They are not able to grasp their mind around the fact that whites are on an equal playing field. Obviously, nothing is equal. But how come nobody ever compares the black privilege to the Asian privilege??
tim wise is a white guy trying to say how aweful it is for blacks...if anyone can answer me how he would know what its like to be black and how bad it is for them please let me know..but as far as im concerned i didnt like him

I feel white people have a greater privilege over minorities especially when it gets into the crime scenes. A black person is more likely to get in trouble for robbery where if a white person did it they would jump to conclusion that a black person is responsible.

Ok here is the deal, Whites have privlliges that others do not. Plan and simple. Just like in movie that taled about how 129 whites commited terriost acts, but when 19 arabs commited a terriost act we blame the whole population

I agree with anonymous, i didnt like tim wise either. He seemed to be trying too hard to advocate for black people but he really has no way to understand truly what they go through. He also seemed to villianze white people which makes him just as bad as the rasict people.
Great point Ladygaga..... by the logic used by anonymous, then white people have no business ever saying that racism is over or is insignificant. Because they don't know.
i feel as though if whites fail or do something that's not suitable to their race then it doesn't matter but if say a Black or Hispanic individual does the same thing they automatically label the whole race a certain way
9ashbash i dont think that is true at all. if a white person was caught robbing a bank he would get the blame and punishment for it the same as if it was a black person
Privilege is a relative term so any race could really have a "privilege" over the other. I believe that White Privilege only exists because we let it,if we actually used our differences in a positive manner we could move forward as a country.

Anonymous, you don't have to be black to UNDERSTAND how bad it was for us. there were plenty of whites that helped blacks back in the hard times of racism. there people who are friends with black people as i am sure you are, and they dont't have to be black to see how awful it is. they see it through their own eyes how bad a person (who happens to be black) is treated. i understand how awful JEWS were treated back during the holocaust and i am as far from jewish as Jackie Chan is black, and if this how you truly feel, people(i) will respect your opinion (freedom of speech), no need to be ANONYMOUS.

I disagree, the movie that was shown yesterday showed us that whites still have privillages that are better, or greater then minorties

I disagree with that statement, but this might be how someone might think, which makes the statement understandable.

I feel white people have a greater privilege over minorities especially when it gets into the crime scenes. A black person is more likely to get in trouble for robbery where if a white person did it they would jump to conclusion that a black person is responsible.
