In terms of racism, our country is better off than it was in the 1800’s, the 1930’s and the 1960’s, so that’s good enough with me.We don’t have to focus on it anymore.

I think racism is a lot better! We aren't pointing fire hoses and shooting them at black people. I think people can have their own thoughts on races but I think it has gotten significantly better. We should keep focusing on it because it could be a lot better also, but we have improved alot.
It definitely has improved...but it still isn't perfect. I feel like racism goes through trends, and the majority of people now just see Arabs as the scapegoat while there still remains unfinished business for the black race too. The civil rights movement may be in different degrees in 2011, but it isn't really over.
our country is much better about racism, but that is not an excuse to stop trying to eliminate it. i know that in orange it doesnt seem like there is that much racism in the world but we do not witness some of the terrible racism that occurs in other parts of the country
Racism goes away gradually, not all at once, I believe given enough time, everything would balance out, however that would take generations. Racism is a problem, but can only change with time.
Our country isn't even close to ending racism. In some parts of the country, people still have the same opinions of different races as they did back in the 60's and they may never change. Without change, our country will never find a solution to this problem.
I actually think racism will always be around. Like republicans and democrats clearly have different views..everyone else has different views on things. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about things but there is a fine line where you don't let it hurt anyone else.
Even though our country have gotten better with racism over the years dosent mean we should stop advancing.Also we still should focus on it beacause it still excist today. I belive racism comes in many diffrent forms and can be implied in many diffrent situations.
I don't know why but for some reason people look for the bad in everything, including each other. We need to focus on race more in this country and find a common ground. One day I hope black and white will go together like flesh and bone.
Obviously it is important to still focus on racism even if it is over with, which it isn't. The only way to ever beat racism is to never forget it and never let it happen again. It's up to whites, the ones who are normally being racist, to stop themselves and advacate the right way to act, but it is also up to minorities to stand up for each other and not allow whites to be ignortant. If whites are being racist towards arabs, which is the situation meow, then all the other minorities who have been discriminated against by white males (blacks, asians, women, etc.) have to stand up for them.
Racism has gotten better and I feel that even though it is not expressed as openly as previous times its still bad. I think we should try to end racism and it should be a focus.
i agree with this statement we are better off but i don't think we neccesarily don't think about it anymore i mean, just because we don't say anything about it negatively anymore doesn't mean that people still don't think that way or treat people that way, some do it just means that the majority of us just don't want to speak on our true feelings on the matter.
i feel like YES the problem is getting better but there is still much work that needs to be done. Lets use the president as an example. There where people who didnt wanna vote for him just because he is black, which is racist. And at the same time there are people who wanted to vote for him, just because he was black, which is racist. The time when we can just a candidate for a candidate is going to be a gorgeous day. But until then i feel this is much work that needs to be done to stop racism.

I cant hold fault with a solution-less problem.. there is no way to completely get rid of racism at all.. you can only make people more accepting of other races.. in certain situations people tend to revert to their nature and side with their people. whites stick by their people.. and i will too.. aint no shame in that
I think that we proved the other day in class that there is racism everywhere. Whites aren't JUST rascist, black are racist, asians are racist, and so are hispanics.
WE all agree that racism needs to stop, but I don't think that is possible at all. Human natujre is selfish and stupid, so I don't see a way to make that ideal world a plafce. That doesn't mean we cant try, just in reality I don't see how we can get all this hate flushed out and turned into unity, peace, and love
false, but we still need to correct the problems that are still in the present. there is still racism/ discirmination, favoritism, and stereotypes. we as people of change need to be the ones to make that step to stop stereotypes and even stop giving people a reason to.

Racism will always be prevelant....we need to fous on it in order to get the human race progressing towards peace and harmony
Wrong. It is better, that is true. However rascism still exists, and we must keep working towards getting rid of it

I think it is a trend, but I think that it is sad that a few people do something bad and start that trend
I think everyone agree we should keep advancing and we have gotten better
